Life Promotions Program

The Life Promotion Program collaborates with relevant agencies, Government departments and the community to develop strategies to reduce suicide and suicidal behaviour in Central Australia. We do this by:

• applying the principles of the LIFE Framework -
  the National Suicide Prevention Strategy
  
  
• delivery of training & workshops such as ASIST (Applied
  Suicide Intervention Skills Training), Safetalk & Suicide Story
  
  
• raising awareness and reducing stigma around suicide
  
  
• supporting communities after a suicide
  
  
• developing culturally appropriate resources
  
  
• supporting a Mental Health Promotion Officer in Tennant Creek
  
  
• guidance from the LPP Steering Community and
  Barkly Reference Group (Tennant Creek)
  
  
• organising World Suicide Prevention Day events
  
  
• data collection on completed suicides
