Participant Forum Get-Togethers

Participant Forum Dinner -
Held 4th Tuesday each month, 6.00-8.00pm @ MHACA

Once a month on the 4th Tuesday participants meet over dinner at MHACA to discuss options, policies, changes, issues and ideas to be fed back to MHACA. This get-together is important for participants to have a say about how staff can better improve services. This forum is run by participants for participants and includes a dinner. Facilitated by Participant Reps via MHACA.

Participant Action Group Lunch -
Held 2nd Tuesday each month, 12.30-2.00pm

Once a month on the 2nd Tuesday the Participant Action Group (PAG) meets to put the ideas from the participant Forum into action. This is an informal meeting over a shared lunch and everyone is welcome and encouraged to come along. See MHACA calendar for details. Facilitated by Participant Reps via MHACA.

Participant Action Updates -
Participant representatives provide updates on participant activities for each edition of the inBalance newsletter every four months. These include outcomes from participant Forum and PAG meetings, ideas and projects in the pipeline, plus an overview on some of the recent participant outings and adventures. More »
Annual Participant Holiday -
Each year MHACA holds a camp for participants to experience an adventure in the greater outdoors. The 2-3 day camps give people an opportunity which they might not normally have access too, allowing people to ‘get away’, relax, get to know others, be part of a team, explore somewhere new, grow in confidence, have some fun & generally enjoy themselves. Participant Stories & Poems -
Participants are invited to contribute to the MHACA newsletter & website which can be done through sharing a story (sometimes their own), writing a poem, painting or drawing. Creative expression plays an important role in the journey of recovery and we are constantly inspired by the pieces we receive. Some of these are shared here. More »
