Gum Tree Room, Alice Springs Resort, Stott Tce
National speaker, educator and Director of Vision in Mind, Fay Jackson will be Guest Speaker at a free 1-hour Community Forum on Wed. 18 June 2008. Fay will talk about the importance of de-stigmatising mental illness and learning to accept that mental illness in the community¾1 in 5 in any year¾is normal. Fay will also talk about early warning signs and how we can better support one another: rather than labelling or marginalising people, how can we create understanding and take better care of ourselves and each other? While her aim is to impart insight and knowledge, Fay’s presentations are also emotional and humorous. Her audiences both laugh and cry as she breaks down myths and empowers her listeners. We look forward to seeing you there.
