Career Opportunity – Health Promotion Officer

MHACA is seeking a Health Promotion Officer. The Health Promotion Officer will work as part of the Health Promotion Team, and under the direction of the Senior Manager Health Promotion and Quality, to support improving the wellbeing of Central Australians by implementing effective health promotion strategies and community engagement events.

This includes coordinating MHACA’s health promotion events, health promotion stalls, and delivering health promotion community campaigns. It also includes developing content to support MHACA’s presence on the web and social media and supporting MHACA’s health promotion activities with participants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and deliver high quality health promotion events to reduce stigma and encourage help seeking for mental health issues.
  • Engage with community stakeholders and identify opportunities to collaborate and engage in external events.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver health promotion stalls and activities.
  • Develop health promotion content to support MHACA’s presence on the web and social media and provide support with resource development.
  • Support MHACA’s health promotion activities with participants.
  • Support MHACA’s photographic and video documentation of participant and community events.
  • Support the delivery of presentations and workshops to workplaces, community members and conferences.

Perform all other tasks as required by the organisation that would reasonably be consistent with classification and responsibilities.

This is a part-time role (4 days a week).
