DESCRIPTION:safeTALK is a half-day alertness workshop that prepares anyone\, regardless of experience or training\, to become a suicide-alert helper. SUMMARY:Standard Mental Health First Aid - Alice Springs
DESCRIPTION:This two-day course teaches adults how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of the common and disabling mental health problems\, how to provide initial help\, where and how to get professional help\, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective\, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation. As a participant you will gain improved knowledge of mental illnesses and their interventions\, knowledge of appropriate first aid strategies\, and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with a mental health problem. \nAll accredited training is available free of charge to pension card holders and Higher Education and VET students. \nFor registration please email training@mhaca.org.au \nEvidence of pension card or current student card required.
