SUMMARY:ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) - Alice Springs
DESCRIPTION:Trusted by professionals\, approved by the World Health Organisation and learnable by anyone\, LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is the only workshop of its kind. Updated continually to reflect new knowledge\, LivingWorks ASIST has been training people to provide suicide first aid interventions for 40 years. \nASIST teaches participants to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. Although ASIST is widely used by healthcare providers\, participants don’t need any formal training to attend the workshop—ASIST can be learned and used by anyone. \n\n\n\nLivingWorks ASIST is a two-day in-person workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals\, discussions\, and simulations.\nYou will also consider how personal and community attitudes about suicide affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it.\nThis workshop will increase your willingness\, confidence\, and capacity to provide suicide first aid.\n\n\n\n\n\nTwo knowledgeable\, supportive trainers will guide you through the course\, ensuring a comfortable and safe learning environment. \nWith over 50 peer-reviewed studies and government reports validating the impact of our programs\, we have the most robust evidence base in the suicide prevention training field. LivingWorks ASIST is the gold standard suicide intervention skills course across the globe. \n  \n\nLivingWorks ASIST participants contribute to safer communities and workplaces by providing life-changing suicide first aid interventions. They’re a vital resource that participants in connector programs—such as LivingWorks Start and LivingWorks safeTALK—can call to help others. \nLivingWorks ASIST workshops can be arranged for your organisation or group\, tailored to the needs of your staff\, volunteers or members. \nClick here to download an ASIST information flyer \n\nAll accredited training is available free of charge to pension card holders and Higher Education and VET students.
