DESCRIPTION:Indigenous Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training I-ASIST provides a culturally relevant framework for participants to learn how to use a unique 6 task model to provide a suicide first aid intervention\, work with someone to develop a personalised safety plan to keep safe for now and connect with further help. This course has been developed by First Nations people with First Nations facilitators\, to provide culturally appropriate suicide prevention training. \nAll accredited training is available free of charge to pension card holders and Higher Education and VET students. DESCRIPTION:safeTALK is a half-day alertness workshop that prepares anyone\, regardless of experience or training\, to become a suicide-alert helper. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die but are struggling with the pain in their lives. \nThrough their words and actions\, they invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers can recognise these invitations and take action by connecting them with life-saving mental health support. \nAll accredited training is available free of charge to pension card holders and Higher Education and VET students.
