MHACA has been busy celebrating 2018 Mental Health Week. A highlight this year was recognition of the wonderful contribution Kath Broadbent has made to the mental health sector over many years. She was awarded Mental Health Worker of the Year by the Hon. Vicki OHalloran, Administrator of the Northern Territory at Government House on the 10th October 2018.
Suicide Prevention Grants
Too many lives are lost to suicide each year. In 2024, 52 Territorians died by suicide. These grants are one way we can take action to make our community stronger.
Grants of up to $10,000 are available for local, culturally safe and meaningful projects that:
• build emotional resilience and strengthens community connections
• encourage help-seeking and reduces stigma or trauma
• support healing through culture, sport, or education.

MHACA attended Disability Sports Australia Northern Territory’s Abilities Unleashed event this morning and had a lot of fun! There were lots of different accessible sports and activities to try and rotate through, but the bikes were definitely the highlight 🚲
