October Group Activities Calendar

The MHACA Group Activities program is a community based program which aims to improve the quality of life for individuals with mental illness by offering structured and socially based activities. Group activities also provide an opportunity for participants to develop personally and professionally as Peers.

Currently all MHACA programs, including the Day Program, remain open with increased hygiene and physical distancing measures in place.

To participate in MHACA group activities you must have a diagnosed mental health condition. Call 08 89522597 or email info@mhaca.org.au to inquire about group activities or an intake interview.

In addition to structured activities, a Drop-in Centre is open Monday 8.30am – 1.30pm, Tuesday – Friday from 8.30am to 3.00pm. Drop-in includes a welcoming space where people can come and work on their recovery in a variety of ways. The program provides a comfy lounge area, kitchen facilities, and computers with internet access, an assortment of activities such as board games, library, DVD’s and music, art/craft and physical activities, as well as laundry and bathroom facilities.

MHACA is seeking a Mental Health Recovery Worker.

The Mental Health Recovery Worker will join the Pathways to Recovery Team and will assist participants in setting goals and actions as part of a Stay Strong Recovery Plan. The goals are individual but may include things like developing or rediscovering social and living skills, access to training and employment opportunities and participation within the community through engagement in activities.

Recovery Workers support the participant in working towards their goals with regular evaluation of the Recovery Plan.

Pathways to Recovery is a psychosocial recovery-oriented program at MHACA which provides individual support to people living with mental health challenges.

The role is full time – 38 hours a week.

Level 4 MHACA EBA $85,977.34 - $92,503.48.

Applications close 4pm Friday 15 November 2024 however MHACA may choose to interview applicants earlier so apply as soon as possible.
