Taking Care of Worries

MHACA has collaborated with the Women’s Safety Services of Central Australia (WOSSCA) to develop a shared resource with MHACA.

The project is inspired by providing mental health support to Aboriginal women who are experiencing or have experienced domestic and family violence however the messaging will be broad enough to encompass being relevant to any Aboriginal women who may have ‘too many worries’ on their mind.

Taking Care of Worries is both a poster resource and A5 Flyer.

Please contact MHACA 89504600 or email info@mhaca.org.au if you would like some copies of the poster or flyers for display or distribution.

The resource was finalised in December 2021, and accompanying social media resources will be shared this year.

MHACA hosted I-ASIST training this week—a two-day interactive suicide prevention workshop

Participants learned how to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide and how to work alongside them to create a plan that supports their immediate safety. The training offers a culturally relevant framework for suicide first aid.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and to trainers Peter and Eli.
